The term, “Stand Down,” refers to a one- to three-day event in which Veterans Administration staff and volunteers provide food, clothing, and health screenings to homeless and at-risk Veterans. In addition, Veterans receive referrals for resources such as health care, housing solutions, employment, substance use treatment, mental health counseling, and other essential services.
This year’s USAVET 2021 Stand Down in Tacoma, WA is organized by American Military Families Action Network to serve homeless and at-risk veterans and their families in Pierce County and South King County. The Veterans Stand Down Event is a convenient way to provide needed resources to Veterans experiencing the housing crisis first hand.
We invite you to join us on November 13-14th to connect with Local Veterans as we gather resources from various local and national organizations, corporations, and local businesses. Organized in one location, we will provide assistance and resources to our at-risk Veterans prior to the upcoming winter season.
